Gym owner draws on personal experience to help high schooler

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A local high school girl is in the process of changing her body and, in turn, changing her life. She’s doing it with the help of a Tallahassee business owner.

Sixteen-year-old Gabriela Brown is working to lose about 15 pounds before prom.

She’s getting personal training from Kim Bibeau, the owner of Sweat Therapy Fitness in Tallahassee.

Bibeau started a new contest this year called Fit and Fabulous.

She wanted to help one local student get in shape before the big dance. Brown is that lucky girl.

The contest if personal for Bibeau.

"I’ve always struggled with my weight. And, I did not go to my senior prom. I didn’t even go on a date in high school, because I weighed over 250 pounds," said Bibeau.

Brown will receive 12 free weeks of personal training. Her prom dress will also be provided by Narcissus in Tallahassee and the salon Green Peridot will do her hair for the dance.

"I’m so thankful. I just can’t believe that they would just be so generous. This will change my life forever," said Brown.
